The Board is seeking comments during the initial review of the following proposed rules:
  • Military rules for all medical board licensees
  • Respiratory care rule for licensure with military provisions
  • Respiratory care rule for continuing education with military provisions
The Medical Board’s initial review of rules may result in a proposal to amend current rules, rescind current rules, make no changes to current rules, and/or adopt new rules. Comments received will be reviewed and possibly result in changes to the initially proposed language before the rules are filed with the Common Sense Initiative Office.

At this time, public comment is being sought on the proposed language for these proposed rules, which can be found on the Medical Board’s website by clicking the button below.

Comments on the proposed rules will be accepted through April 12, 2019.
Effective September 2018, the State Medical Board of Ohio no longer requires Physician Assistant Supervision Agreements to be filed with or approved by the board. Now the agreements can be managed in the physician's office with no expiration date. The agreement may be amended at any time to change the scope of practice or PA responsibilities. For your convenience, you may use the forms on our website as your template or create your own document.

To ensure consistency, supervising physicians are responsible for keeping the completed and signed agreement with the physicians records. For more information regarding supervision agreements, see
ORC 4730.19.
